Do you want a cleaning or new floors?

We get a lot of phone calls from customers looking to get their floor cleaned. To that, we say there are a few different types of “cleanings” you can get, depending on what you are looking for.

1. An Actual Cleaning
Sometimes, when someone says they want their hardwood floors cleaned, that’s really all they want. During a professional cleaning, your hardwood floors will be steam-cleaned using the latest technology that will lift dirt and grime from your floors. This might be a good choice for someone who recently had their hardwood floors redone, and are looking to keep them maintained.

2. Buff and Coat
This abrasive cleaning is the second type of cleaning you can offer your floors. The process for this is a simple, worry-free one! Your flooring experts will start by using a machine to buffer the topcoat of polyurethane on your hardwood floors. After, a new coat of polyurethane will be applied, restoring the luster and shine to your hardwood floors. This is also a great way to get out any minor imperfections and scratches that may be on your floors!

3. Sand and Finish
A sand and finish is your third option, and the most popular. It is a great option if you are wanting to change the color of your existing floors. Your flooring expert will begin by sanding your hardwood or engineered floors down to the layer of wood, buffing away the polyurethane and existing stain. After, a few stain samples will be laid down for you to choose from, and your choice will be applied to the entire floor. Next, two to three coats of polyurethane will be applied over a course of one to three days. The dry time for each coat will depend on if you choose an oil or water-based polyurethane. Finally, a coat of sealer will be laid down, restoring your hardwood floors!
